Në moshën 75 vjeçare ka ndërruar jetë ish-zyrtari i lartë në Administratën e Bill Clinton, Bill Richardson, i njohur për angazhimet e tij diplomatike gjatë luftërave të përgjakshme në ish-Jugosllavi.

Për vdekjen e Richardson, ka raportuar CNN duke shkruar se “Ish-guvernatori i Nju Meksikos, Bill Richardson, një personazh i gjatë i politikës demokratike me radhë si Sekretar i Energjisë dhe ambasador i SHBA-së në Kombet e Bashkuara nën administratën e Klintonit, vdiq të premten”.

Gjithashtu për vdekjen e tij kanë reaguar edhe shumë politikanë amerikanë e gazetarë.
